About me:
My name is Helia, and I am a recent graduate of the Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education from the University of Saint Joseph, Macau. I firmly believe that the principle of educating students is to "keep love in your heart and pass on love". Becoming a kindergarten teacher has been my dream since I was a child. This is also what I insist on.
The reason why I decided to become a kindergarten teacher is because I like children. They are very innocent. I really hope that their innocent hearts can always remain in their hearts. I know that the current social thought affects every generation of young people, and teachers play an important role. I hope that I can start from the early childhood, teach them how to treat people and deal with things, and pass on the "leading by example", starting with myself.
I learned to care for children in the youth fellowship of the Macau Christian Church North District Mission Church. I started by accompanying them. I personally accompanied a pair of sisters from kindergarten K1 to the current first grade of junior high school. In addition to learning a lot of skills from accompanying them, I also realized how to treat life. There must be "love", because when there is "love", I will be concerned about them, and I will pay attention to all their matters, big or small.
Visit St. Joseph's Diocesan Secondary School No. 4 for internship from September to December 2024. During the internship, I put my faith in every student and discovered the importance of "student-centered" education. This concept can shape students into people with ideas, initiative, and understanding. To express myself, through internship, every time I observed a class, I enjoyed it very much and it made me more determined to become a kindergarten teacher.
Teaching philosophy:
To me, the difference between education and teaching is that education is about teaching students morals, thoughts and all other values, and education is enough to influence a child's life. Teaching is to impart book knowledge to students and integrate education into learning. Education and teaching are inseparable.
On the road to becoming a teacher, there are two beliefs that always remain in my heart. The first one is "Keep love in your heart and pass on love." Only with love in your heart can you see the needs and strengths of each student with your heart, and then pass on your love to each student so that they can also feel the love. The second is "teaching by example". I know that the concepts of today's society influence every generation of young people. Children learn from adults how to speak and behave, and teachers play an important role. I wish I could have started when I was younger. Take care of them and teach them how to treat others and handle things, starting with themselves.
